In the next month I will be making a button or a series of buttons to exhibit as part of The Button Project that is part of the Barnaby Festival in Macclesfield.
The Barnaby Festival is festival of Contemporary arts, culture and fun celebrating Macclesfield’s rich heritage and has been running since the 13th century!! The Button Project is a collaboration between local glass artist Victoria Scholes and The Macclesfield Museums.
“Macclesfield was the heart of UK’s historic silk industry, and handmade silk buttons was where it all began. From a cottage-based enterprise, it grew into a flourishing silk industry and helped to make the town what it is today. ” The Button Project.
